R9 FURY NITRO PROBLEMS :(

Evening guys,

it seems ive had nothing but issues since getting this GPU. it works but get a lot of crashes in games ect.

worst offenders being BF1 and i cant even play playerunknowns battleground (crashes constantly)

the only thing i can attribute this to is the Fury Nitro - its 4GB HBM memory specifically. (atleast i hope this is the issue)

i have tried everything including reload drivers ect but nothing seems to work.

im going to try and sell this GPU and just wondering what you guys think i should expect to get back for this on the 2nd hand market? its less than 1year old GPU with minimal use with original box ect.

selling this then going to buy something else.

advice welcomed.

Thanks,

I have a FuryX 4GB and it runs everything very well, got 54 hours on BF1 so don’t think 4GB is going to cause crashes unless you are running at 4K ultra and even then it should not crash.

has the gpu got all the power it needs , double check the leads to gp[u and mobo and reseat teh card, try another slot if you have one.

remove all traces of utilites and old drivers (amd have drive removal tool) and reinstall

is rma to makler not an option at less than 12 months

I used to get that error on my old amd card,it was a driver problem but I see there are quite a few people who have the same issue playing bf1

i have clean installed all of the drivers completely. still does it though.

looking on the GPU page it advises a 750w PSU. however i have only got a 550W superflower as recommended by ocuk staff. think this could be my issue?

well you probably wont want to sell it 2nd hand if its 'faulty'

since its inside the warranty period I would maybe get it RMA'ed,but it could also be the psu?

I'd be interested to know what graphics card you get in return if you do RMA it, considering the Fury is EOL.

Must be faulty in some way, I play BF1 max settings 1440P with the exact same card with no issues.

Have you tried the second BIOS on the card? Shut down, pull the plug on the PSU and wait a few mins then push the BIOS button and fire it back up, if the button is blue its using the second BIOS

Well update to the thread - upgraded to a 750watt power supply and the issue is still present.

Playerunknowns battlegrounds being the worst offender - terrible screen tearing and poor fps. And never last longer than about 5mins in game before it crashes back to desktop.

Frustrating me now, back on the phone to ocuk tomorrow.

Do you use Frame Rate Target Control?
I get a few games that freeze when i have it enabled. The frame rate limiter in afterburner works fine though.

Sounds like it's just faulty to me. Maybe the second BIOS has slightly lower clocks or something that are letting it fail slightly less spectacularly. It needs to go back either way.
