I am looking at getting a .22 rifle for close range shooting of rabbits, and was wondering if anyone here shoots rabbits and which rifle they use. and before you ask I only shoot what i eat. I am looking for a rifle which will put a rabbit down quick with minium suffering.

If you don’t have a licence you will have to go sub 12ft/lbs air rifle or get a FAC so you can get a rimfire. CZ are very nice budget rifles, stay away from semi autos as with sub sonic ammo they tend to jam quite often, in my experience any way. Check out airgunbbs and pigeonwatch forums, also join BASC or similar to take advantage of insurance, advice and representation.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!
Not da ickle bunny wunnies!!!
(may god forgive you for what you are about to do, myself and my wuvley bunnies certainly wont! :( )

My parents have recently just taken in a rabbit. Its so harmless and innocent I think your a tool shooting them for fun.

EDIT: Just read the I shoot just what I eat. Still just go down morrisons and get a chicken.

Makes it all ok because the chicken was born on a plastic tray wrapped in cellophane wasn't it

LoL, you got to love going down the shopping isles at morrisons safe in the knowledge that no factory farmed animal died for your chicken dinner.

Please go away and learn about how something has to die for something else to live.

Of course. Weren't they GM modified to grow that way?

TBH shooting a rabbit painlessly after it has spent its whole life in the wild is a lot better than having a chicken from a supermarket that has been stuck in a tiny barn its entire life. :)

Shooting a cow would be cruel, unless your holding a feast lol, don't know about you but a rabbit would fill me up nicely

rabbit tastes so much better and lived a much better life than farmed chicken.

Rabbits are nothing, dumb little critters that stop and stare when you flick the torch on! I use mine for fox control, and those blighters are a pain! They either have a damn good sense of hearing or are pre-cognitive!

Farmers might have something to say about that!

oh god aye in this country they would kill ye

4 dead rabbits in my fridge now which i will gut tomorrow, not bad for my first time with a rifle. So much better meat than any farmed chicken, and all the ones i shot were dead with 10-15 seconds.
