Went to Raby castle to pick up the Christmas tree on Saturday. Decided to wander round the grounds. Turned out to be interesting weather.

The foggy shots are all very nice. I cant help wondering what the last one would look like in colour though.

Thank guys.

Really not as different as you would imagine tbh. Yes I have desaturated and toned it, but the origional one was very close to monochrome as it was, just a hint of green in the tree and on the ground. It really was as spooky as the images suggest. I nearly ended up walking into the castle before it appeared out of the mist. I also went deer stalking in the fog which was fun. AF went to pot in such a low contrast situation though.

And OT... Woot! 7000 posts! :D

you went to raby castle and forgot the deer :O

nice shots though, i like the 1st for some reason.

I took some of the Deer, but in the thick fog it was pretty hard. I got some spooky silhouette type shots, but quite a few were oof as the AF went to pot in the fog.

Great shots, youj got more info on how you took these shots?

All the information should be in the exif. Anything in particular you want to know?

Sorry am new to photography, so really am stupid when it comes to words such as exif?!?!?!?! :p

Please advise

The subject looks very moody and imposing in #2, great use of the wide angle for maximum impact. For such poor visibility, the textures at the front wall have come through well.

I also echo other peoples praise for #4, however I feel that the top of the frame could do with a little more room
