Race Driver - GRID

why is it apart from gt5 that all racing games have gone more down the arcade racing route ?

I think skill level comes into it too. It's much harder for the vast majority to enjoy a full simulation than an arcade game. If you have half of the players throwing their cars off at every turn, they will get very fed up, very quickly and never play the game again.

Holy moly. Has anyone seen this?

It really does raise the bar quite considerably.

GT beaten before it's out?
I know that says 'ACTUAL GAMEPLAY FOOTAGE' but it's hardly in game, is it? Well, not unless they've managed to create a racing game where you play a TV director and control the cameras from the side of the racetracks rather than actually driving the cars themselves.

Surely that's just the usual 'replay' footage that's all dressed up and looking pretty, like we're used to seeing from so many racing games.

i just watched the gametrailers vid and i must say it does look really nice. I've always preferred more arcade racers to simulations (thought i still buy the gran turismos :/) so will definitely be watching this one.

edit - i just realised its nothing to do with arcadey, i just prefer games to simulations :)
