Race Driver: Grid

I would say they have their similarities. Both don't quite fall into the outright sim or arcade niche. Both have a large number of real-life cars and tracks. Perhaps the handling on Grid is slightly more arcade like but I don't think there's that much in it. Both appear to offer a career option of going up through the ranks getting better cars etc.
How are they not remotely similar?

Grid is fun to play and has crash damage it also has a great sense of speed.
Gran turismo has no crash damage and is slow and boring.

In GT you buy, tune and collect cars. You race for money (well, credits)

GT has loads more tracks than Grid.

GT is much more of a sim - Grid is dumbed down pure arcade.

They really aren't very similar at all except that they both involve cars and racing.

1) "GRID sees you driving for a new racing team. To begin with you need to earn enough cash to buy your team's first car, and from then on it's all about earning cash and reputation points. Cash buys cars needed to enter new events and reputation points add up to earn new licences and access to new event tiers. Essentially, if you place on the podium regularly you'll soon be raking in the money and rep".

2) don't know about exact numbers and can't seem to find them anywhere

3) GT is NOT a sim and Grid is not pure arcade. LFS is a sim, Flatout is arcade, they both sit in between.

Ah I see. I wonder if this will be like most of Codemasters' other driving games, where most of the game is 'locked' at first, in an attempt to get people to purchase their rip off 'codes' - Toca 3 had tons of content, 99% of it locked.

nice signature m8, if you like flying sims come over to bf forums, we have 3 il2 servers up for all pilot exsperience's :)

Thanks it was made last year when i was actually good . I may join as i always used to like flying in bf2 so may try out a flight sim.

Minimum spec is a Geforce 6800 IIRC.

FWIW I have a 7600 GT and it runs poorly on that even with everything set to minimum or off.

Awwwww that suckssssss. I cba shelling out on a new card so i won't be playing this game.

Not yet,but they should have so we get it for friday.

I was disappointed that one placed hadn't shipped mine (although had shipped for others), considering the number of days they take to deliver, so moved my order closer and they haven't shipped yet either.

All signs are pointing to a dull weekend for me. :(

I pay for games that deserve paying for... When the bank balance says so. But I dont play many games now and games I liked are boring now like GTA 4 and others like dirt.

I thought talk of wares and blantant or in this case no shame in implying your downloading an illegal copy was likely to either get a ban or short holiday.
Im sure people here that have ordered the game very much appreciate it when someone comes along bragging their latest illegal download.
Really i hope you get what you deserve.

Nothing wrong with bragging you are downloading a game, I'm downloading TDU right now from usenet for free, not even paid a penny for it, but its legal coz I allready own it and bought it from go to shop.
