RACE Free Weekend On Steam

Spent the entire night playing this against my housemate when it became available. It was good fun, spent ages trying to beat each others lap times and when one of us did, the other spent ages shouting at the monitor trying to beat the time just set... I thought I was doing well with a 1:41:407 but then on semi pro the AI drivers where setting a pace of 1:35 and I just couldn't keep up! Didn't try online though as there where no servers with people on.
 
Played it for about 45 mins last night, and im disappointed to be honest! the car seem to twitchy I think LFS has a much better feel to it. Will play some more later and see if I can get to like it
 
erm well this is what mine looks like. amd 64 3000+ and a 6800 gfx card.

I tried gfx on all settings and this is what i got, runs at about 1FPS

runs good on my pc, i love the cars, but sound a little tinny?, dont think the sound is that great, also im finding mp v.laggy, not for me, but u just see other cars jumping all over the place lol v.annoying.

anyone else gettin lag online??
 
Ive tried a couple of times but the multiplayer is so buggy Ive not managed a lap yet without it chucking me out.
Present error is server cannot be contacted

I tried the single player and its all right, graphics are good. Sound is not terrible
Physics are ok too but nothing better then I used to play on Nascar a decade ago and still not as good as even older games then that. It also has lag issues I think, it snaps into place and suddenly reacts to what happened a second ago

Not an enjoyable game to play. I still wouldnt mind a go of the multiplayer but I doubt it will work now
 
Just played it last night and it's a really good game, car details and realism settings are amazing. Graphics is brilliant and runs 60+ FPS constantly on my setup with everything maxed out.

The only thing is you really do need steering wheels with pedals to fully enjoy this game.
 
well I bought the game because of this free weekend... Worked out at about £15 so not bad... Absolutely loving it, espcially online right now. Had some fantastic 4 player mini cooper races on brands hatch with my housemate and 2 other people! Just a shame there isn't anyway to edit the vehicles to show your name on the back :-(
 
Quite suprised at all the problems people seem to be having.

Bought it a couple of days after release on Steam and i've not had any problems whatsoever, and my system is 2 or 3 years old now.

The server browser is 100x better than any other SimBin games, can easily get online within 30 seconds. :/
