completely missed this games development, although i knew they were doing a console racer.. graphics look smart and SimBim are quite reputable, wonder if theres a demo coming soon ?

About RACE On
RACE On includes the following new content:

  • 16 unique car models in 8 classes with over 140 variations.
  • 12 tracks of which several never has been released by SimBin on PC.
RACE On will be available as a stand alone game including all RACE 07 content and an expansion pack for existing owners of RACE 07 will also be available.

All in all this makes up for:

  • 39 unique car models in 17 classes with over 450 variations.
  • 30 tracks and 17 alternate layouts, in total 47 tracks.

LOL - I wasnt refering to this thread, just the fact that "TOAD" did not turn out to be a BTCC expansion.

Very, in my opinion.

You can play the demo online and although the demo does get full of twonks at times, will give you an idea.

If your interested in sim driving, I would recommend www.racedepartment.com

Their forums are VERY informative. Nice, mature community.

Will get good, clean races.

Thanks for the heads up about the STEAM version, I did check that page but missed the sentence mentioning the STEAM release.
 
I doubt it looks anything like Shift, but I'm sure it's a far superior game for sim fans. Will check out the demo when it hits Steam.
 
Heh aye. I haven't played it yet but from what I've seen it looks exactly like Race 07, I imagine all their energy has gone into new content. I will say though, even though Race 07 doesn't have all the spangly effects, the cars are lovingly detailed, the tracks are bang on and the immersion in the cockpit is as good as anything else, so bring it on.
 
its basically a mix of race07, gtr evo, stcc and race pro (xbox360) with formula masters thrown in

if you own none then its a very good package

i have the beta and its v good, loving the formula masters, engine sounds seem a bit beefed up aswell.

I believe they are doing similar for race on as gtr evo meaning you can just buy the extra's at a reduced price if you already have race07/stcc/evo

Screenshots on the website look good. Obviously the Race07 engine, but some nice tweaks. Only thing that's not on a par with SHIFT is the tracks, but tbh tracks in real life aren't that exciting, I'm sure SHIFT has added lots of guff on them to make it look better.

Can't wait to play this with my wheel, looks very good, and Race 07/Evo etc all play great with my Driving Force Pro. Formula Masters would be cool, I've watched that with the BTCC a few times before at Brands, even got a formula masters tyre in my room!

I hope they're working on a new engine sometime soon though, the next gen of sims should be better again.

hadnt read that lol, guess I am spot on tho.

although the racing site I am on are predominantly gtr evo some have gone back to gtr2 and a lot are waiting for rfactor2... good times ahead for sim racers :)
 
had a quick go and it feels/plays just the same as gtr/race 07...not a bad thing

but the graphics look very dated..i own gtr and race 07 so i think i will give this a miss....and whats with only using certain cars in certain groups for races ? the content is already very limited.
i dont think this will sell very well.

they are lucky in a way that games like granturismo and forza dont come to pc, otherwise they would be laughed at like a kid with a 1 inch weener who has had his pants pulled down in the middle of a playground.
