I havent noticed any tearing when racing, saw a few jaggies when my son was tho, I have installed to hdd which apparently improves it.

its gonna be one of those marmite games i think. am on caterhams atm on career as I want to unlock everything before going online... (which is a pita)

Tearing is horrific on my system :( I'm running the 360 at 1080P, so that could be playing a part. Will try turning the res down and see if it makes a difference.

[edit] just the same on all resolutions. Pity, as it ruins it.

Recieved my copy thursday:

Gameplay.

I think the first hurdle (Including myself) will be getting over the outdated graphics and unforgivable screen tearing wich is not on these days really.
When you first play RacePro you tell yourself that although the game doesnt look great, there must be something special going on behind the scenes thats gonna make the game feel special. I think this Is the games second biggest problem, ie: It doesnt initialy blow you away.

However after playing for some 5 hours and getting behind the wheel of some more powerful cars I'm starting to feel this game shine.
Trying to get that fastest laptime to secure a racing contract makes It feel more worthwhile.

Graphics.

As previously stated the graphics are dated and suffer from screen tearing and will never win any prizes. also you'll notice some pop up in the "far" distance and some "shimmering" glitches on parts of the course.
The cars look fine but nothing brilliant and I wanted to play this game via the cockpit view but It feels a little to restricted viewing wise out the small windshield and also the screen brightness takes a hit and It all feels rather more awkward than It should.

Sound.

I always play games with headphones on and the cars sound beefy with a hint of tinniness at times but the engine popping noises save it.
I did notice some engine sound distortion while In the pits.

Multiplayer:

At 10:30am UK time I decided to set up a race but not many people joined after 10 minutes, infact only 1.
It went quickly down hill from here as there seemed to be a glitch where the other driver lapped me twice before I had completed 1 lap. This want because I was awful at the game but looking at the onscreen map the other car appeared to driving at 800mph, so Im suspecting a glitch here wich could quite frankly destroy the game online until a patch is released.
No lag though.

Value.

I payed £28.99 for this game delivered to the door and Im never going to argue with that. If you try not to judge the game on Its first few hours and recover from the grahical let down I feel there are some rewards In gameplay to be had, and thats the most inportant thing in a game, GAMEPLAY ;)

My intial test drive would suggest for "me" that this game IS a 7.8 out for 10 so far.

Are there any definite instances where screen tearing of framerate problems are apparent every time?

I've yet to see either yet, running at 720p via HDMI.

For me it's any kind of car movement which causes the camera to pan. You tend to notice tears in the sky, and sadly, on the back of cars in front. I'm using a 42" 1080P Panasonic PZ70 via HDMI at 1080P and at times the rear bumpers of cars aren't in line with their rear windshields.

Weird, just played it using a BMW in practice mode on the Curitiba track and didn't get any tearing whatsoever.

i've not noticed either, same settings 720p, HDMI

not sure if the view makes any difference, i use the cockpit view

Oddly the tearing appears less in practice mode lol.
fast frame rate perhaps as less cars on the track.

Just tried a full race at Monza. Absolutely no tearing for me whatsoever using the 'bumper' cam, and I've yet to experience any framerate drops.

So some of you are getting tearing others are not, some are getting framerate drops, others are not ?? I think I'll be avoiding this game until a demo miraculously appears.

It's not that there are any framerate drops, it is a consistent framrate. The problem is it appears to only run at around 25 fps, it just isn't anywhere near as smooth as Forza or even Grid, and Grid runs at 30fps.

Been playing for an hour or 2 and im finding it way too easy on Pro... Quite disappointed how forgiving the handling seems to be, compared to all the other Simbim PC games ive played... Seems ill have to keep my gaming system, was hoping for better that way i could sell it. :(

Graphically it isnt very good, no tear or framerate drop issues noticed, but it seems quite low-res, im playing over Component @ 1080p (32")

Loving the game but the online code is rubbish, I haven't managed a single online race yet without losing connection.
