Race Suits on the road?

I don't see anything wrong with them tbh,you look smart in them no matter what bike you ride

if they were as comfortable/practical as textiles id wear them myself

All the gear and no idea... is precisely what I did when I got my bike.

Made sense to me. As my mate put it when I said I might get cheap gear; More likely to fall off as a noob, and your head/body doesn't become more valuable as you improve.

So I have a set of Alpinestars GP Pro 2 piece. If I'm just out on shortish journeys I'll wear it with kevlars and Astars short gloves. If a day out I go full power ranger style.

Just thought, going to call it storm trooper from now on... sounds much cooler than power ranger :D

Sorry, no go - There already are Storm Trooper bike leathers out there.
I think UDReplicas do one of the sets, along with the Batman and illuminated Tron sets.

But surely all the gear is a good thing regardless of how good a rider you are?
Good gear, sure.
Just not full race suits on a CG125.

When I see a new rider on a 125 with full leathers and all the protective gear on I think they look smart and sensible, not a poser.
Most of it is down to budget, especially at that level.

I think the people who wear replica MotoGP type gear is going a bit far, Rossi and Guy Martin stuff seems pretty common.
Yeah, you need to ride REAL good if you're gonna look that silly!!
Far better to go the Ewan & Charley route, eh, as most riders can manage to bimble along while whining about stuff!! :p

Edit: lol taskmaster, I knew someone would have those feelings :D
It was mostly in jest... mostly...*

there are a good number of people around here who have watched too much Sons of Anarchy and their bikes and gear look straight out of that show!
There are many of us who were wearing that stuff well before the show even existed, though.
Some of us have even grown up long since...

*17th Aliens reference of the day...

Mostly ;) :D

Ah well, I have been measured up and ordered a 1 piece, I'll post some pictures when I have it.

Dainese dealer but not an off the shelf size as I am 6'3 and 40" chest.

Should fit pretty good even if it isn't fully tailored.

What sort of price if you don't mind me asking?

I discovered yesterday we have a Dainese dealer in town that offer the alteration and tailoring services which means I might actually be able to get a leather jacket that will fit my barrel chest and t rex arms while still actually having the armor in a useful position.

No extra cost as I am not having made to fit tailored in the factory. Just a non conforming size 104 which is 52 tall.

There are a few options.

Standard size, short size, tall size, alteration of those three or fully hand tailored to your own size specifications including colours, logos, names etc at the factory in Italy.

I didn't ask how much that costs as my measurements are pretty much spot on for a 104 with a back protector in.

I had a one piece, I don't have anything else so wear it on track days, days out and even toured Scotland in it. It feel much more secure in it than my previous 2 piece leathers, don't really care if people think I look like an idiot.
