Racing Games & Steering Wheels

Yep, 100% this. It's the only racing game that has ever got my heart going in online racing. Last race I did few days back a perfect example, my heart rate was through the roof at the end. Started 10th, made it up to 5th before jumping up to 4th by getting in front of the guy on pitstop strategy. Rejoined ahead, but then for the remaining quarter of the race he was all over me, my consistent lap times and lines from the first 3/4's of the race were good. But all of a sudden when the heart rate goes up, I was missing gears, brake points, hitting apex curbs etc. Nothing else beats the iRacing buzz when it comes to multiplayer racing. You try so hard not ruin someone else's race, you go as fast as you can trying to improve that irating to get into the higher splits, that when it comes to the end of the race I end up feeling like an emotional wreck haha.

Quality drive around Spa, watched the whole video!

Just had a blast driving on DiRT Rally 2.0, starting in the RallyCross S1600 with the Volkswagen Polo.

Although the Ultimate edition of the game gives you pretty much the funds and cars to climb to the top almost instantly, I decided to avoid the upgraded Corsa and go for the Polo from the classifieds to get a scratch experience.

i would start in the beginner cars and work from there. rally cross can be great fun but im personally more of a rally fan. also scotland is out tomorrow. so full mcrae mode incoming.

Just got a G29, damn Dirt is absoutly nails! Is dirt 2.0 better.

Been enjoing AC, and the Forza 7 trail. I may actually buy Forza 7, it's fun and works well with the wheel. Going to have plenty of indoor time now too!

if you mean hard dirt rally 2.0 is still hard but...its better driving wise than one. its mainly about practicing. you will suck at first unless you played other dirt titles. or do sim racing normally. as above start in slower cars and progress slowly. dirt rally 2.0 is mega cheap at moment.also big free dlc scotland and two new cars are out tomorrow for free !

How is FM7 with the G29, also anyone got the Rev counter to work on PC? Still debating ACC at the moment.

You all on G29's ?
I have read some comments across the net that the G25 is still the best Logitech wheel, obviously horses for courses., but they're roughly the same price on ebay - looking at pre-owned. Still on a ageing but still working Driving Force GT.

Personally, I prefer Dirt Rally 1, to Dirt Rally 2. What I dislike about DR2 is that, unless you buy the Game of the Year Edition then you ain't getting the full game, you'll be looking at micro transactions if you buy the standard version - currently £9.99 on Steam, vs £22.49 for the GotY version.
I do love the hill climb in DR1, especially in VR. Also, the 80's style synth music in DR1 is awesome, especially "Replay Music 2".

you can get dirt rally 2.0 cheap now having worked on the handling or been part of the people testing it dirt rally 2.0 is better. more accurate over dirt rally 1. G29 is what id buy new. on a tiny budget you cant fault a logitech DFGT. its great wheel for peanuts and the feeling isnt much difference over a G29. i still use mine a lot.

I'm a Project Cars 2 fan myself. ACC has good sound and "out of the box" FFB is pretty good, but it's otherwise a bit of a let down for me.I'm looking forward to trying AMS2 though.

Thanks. I want a shifter and a clutch, so far I'm using the DFGT's paddles (well, they're more buttons than paddles). I also got the wrong wheel, it wasn't the G25, it was the G27. Plenty on ebay in complete kits - wheel + pedals + shifter, for around £150+

you can get a g29 with gear stick for £150 new with warranty. so g25 or g27 just arent worth buying. as they years old and have no warranty unless they cheap.

DFGT is often 40 50 quid. so a great entry wheel. you just want to look for the condition of the wheel often you can see if its worn or not. nothing else under a G29 unless its cheap 2nd hand is worth buying.

Where have you seen the G29 for £150? I'm looking for one but can't see them less than £180

they are often at this price they go up and down during the year. depends on demand and sales. sometimes as low as £120. sometimes as high a £200. the good thing about them is logitech dont make new wheels very often so with warranty they hold 2nd hand price very well.

Just loving the G29, my library of racing games is growing rapidly. F1 2019, ACC and DiRT Rally 2.0 so far and all have great FFB customization options, plus tweaking the rotation setting for 1:1 mapping has been spot on for F1 360/400' works a treat!
