Interesting, jokes can be made about the potato famine. I assume that means we can post jokes about the holocaust and similar too then?

Of course it's a 'bad taste'/'dark humour' joke but if the one who tells it has grown up in the South then North of Ireland and has directly related affected ancestors I'd probably give them a hall pass to tell it, knowing of course that they understand the impact and background of the subject.

I’ve no issue with it personally - I’ve got quite the repertoire of damn fine but definitely not forum friendly irish jokes, several of which take the extreme pee out of the ‘potato’ famine It’s just interesting how society can be ‘ok’ - generally speaking - with mocking one tragedy but not another.

True, I get your point. Potentially because there's so many Irish jokes the descent into darker content is easier because we are already used to laughing at (and let's face it normally with) Irish people.

Ironically the 2nd time I heard the joke in the same day.

A German pc gaming driving YouTube streamer said im a racist i love winning car races, then back tracked..... Upon realising..
