Rack mounted computers

I work in a small room and have considered getting some rack mounted PC's but have no idea what they are like. Or maybe I should just get small form factor ones.

1. Are they more expensive to get rack mounted PC's compared to small form factor or desktop PC's?

2. Are they silent in operation?

Anything else I should know about them?

1. Yes.

2. No really unless you spend a lot of money.

Use a standard ATX case of if ou really have to have somethig small then SFF will be fine but cooling is unually poor.

they are basically server-only, just get a sff or standard atx.
