Hi,

Can you help a newbie?
I'm planning my first wc system and I'm trying to work out where to mount my rads.
As I am limited on space so I'm going to put the a 120x2 on the back of the case but am wondering which way the fans shoud point, away or towards the case. I'm assuming that they always blow through the core and not draw through it? Will it be noisier than having it inside the case as I'm after a quiet as poss system?
Also I want to put a smaller rad inside the case to improve cooling and add some expandability to the whole system (like adding another GPU later) and I wondered the same about that one too. Should the air flow be into or out of the case. I was guessing into, as that would draw cooler air through the rad? But then it's feeding warmer air into the case? Or not?
Also is a 900l/h pump enough for, cpu/120x1/nb/gpu/120x2/res, through 3/8" tubing?
Sorry if these seem like obvious question to some of you but I haven't done w/c before and I want to make sure I get it right.

What kind of rad/wc bits do you have ? What are you going to be cooling ? I always have my fans pulling air through the rad ;)

I work in motor racing and was sure that drawing the air through the rad was a better plan.

That swiftech kit has the fans between the rad and case so it must be blowing against the back of the case?

Haven't bought the w/c bits yet. it'll be cooling a 3800 x2 an a DFI NF4 expert but I don't know what GPU yet. Needs to be really quiet as it sits in the living room as a HTPC. That's why I want to do away with the NB fan.

Was thinking of getting danger den blocks, alphacool ap910 pump and waterchill black ice rads. haven't sussed out fans yet?

No-one is likely to recommend the Waterchill version of the Black Ice rads. I would recommend Thermochill PA rads or the Swiftech MCR??? series. The fans you get need to be matched to the rad as thick high-resistance rads need 38mm deep high pressure fans and others work well with low-resistance rads.

Just out of interest, what fans do the Thermochill PA rads need? I've got one winging its way to me in the next couple days to go with my new wc setup..
