Rad placement in bottom of Define XL?

Hi all, quick question about radiator placement in the bottom of a Fractal Design Define XL.

I have a XSPC RX240 on order which will be in push/pull.
I had planned on cutting a hole in the bottom of the case then drawing air up through the rad but I’m wondering if it can be mounted on its side and just draw air in from the front 140mm case fan?

I would guess it’s not a good idea but as a water cooling noob I thought I’d check with you guys.

Well if your up for some modding it's possible to fit all most anything in the XL, I have a 480mm rad in the bottom of mine and a 240mm in the top, the link is in my sig if you want to take a look.
