Hey All,

Having read a few recent posts about GFX cards, I see this fellow will be on offer tomorrow.

I am building a new (not top of the line) system to replace my current one and my dying EVGA 980.

Given the current prices and state of cards, to get me by for now until better options in the future become available, would this card be a suitable purchase right now?

I dont really play any current titles, 7 days to die, Hunt showdown, Dead by daylight, Space engineers etc.. that sort of thing, I play in 1080p with no current plans to change monitors until I can get a decent card for 1440p.

So basically, for the price (and if I am lucky enough to get one) is it worth settling for the RX6600 or should I spend a little more and get say a 3060?

Any input appreciated, thank you for your time.

Not sure on the 6600 but the 6600xt is a very competent card at 1440p. I bought one for my son last year and then a 165hz 1440p monitor for Christmas and in most games he gets well over 100fps

6600 at £350 is a good deal in this market and not far behind a 3060.

You'd likely have to pay a lot more for a 3060, unless you've seen some deals I've missed, so it won't be worth it at Gibbo's 6600 offer price, unless you absolutely must have the superior RT capability.

The 6600 is very capable at 1080p and can do 1440p if you dial it down a bit, especially in older games.

@Gibbo the Sapphire RX 6600 is still showing the previous price of £399.95 for me at 09:09 this morning. Is the reduced price deal live yet or is there something else one needs to do to see the reduced price?

Keep your browser signed in and refresh every few minutes. There was a delay with the 3050 deal.

I'm gonna give this a miss sadly, but wouldve bit your hand off last week Gibbo! Moving house this week so gonna see how it plays out with pricing now. Part of the reason i sent my 6500xt back. By the time i'm fully gaming again the prices might have dropped.

Good luck all :)

Something must be wrong with an internal system I’ll log in and see if I can force update it

Should be £349.99 on the old website as per links above, something is wrong with something but looks like ive managed to force the price.

Over the Vega 56 we are probably looking at around 20% faster performance with a 6600 (XT model would double that), so not the biggest upgrade but its definitely more modern with its 7nm process node, power efficiency and low heat.

Damn, nice price - works out cheaper than the 3050 upgrade I just got for my son, for a faster card... Typical :p

Given how quicly even the higher priced 3050s sold out, i cant believe this is still available

As far as i can tell its the letter T that makes the difference for a lot of shoppers. If it said "RTX 6600" instead of "RX 6600" it would have sold out in under 2 mins

I know, its a bit mad really, i guess with DLSS the 3050 would probably outpace the 6600 in supported games, but still...

AMD stock is far healthier, we have 1000+ on certain SKU with more on the way so a lot of these hot selling AMD products like the 6500 XT and 6600 should never run out.

This is good news. It feels like this might be the early steps of things actually getting somewhat back to normal... Here's hoping that it can continue

Glad to hear it! Not looking for an upgrade at the moment (unless you can get me a 6800xt for msrp - yeah, right!) but as starshock says, hopefully a sign of prices going down and availability going up

This is extremely good news. Some kudos to AMD due here I think.
