Radeon VII

You claimed AMD have progressed performance, they haven't. That is just a fact.

When you look at price/performance, nor have nvidia. They went backwards (a lot).

Which is why people are buying 10 series cards while they still can. Look at the 2060, the most derpy card in years.

2 games with DLSS guys! 2!

Soon they will match Physx numbers :D

DLSS is a joke..

And anyone aged over 30 will know in all format wars in technology the more expensive features die in favour of cheaper open source. Betamax lost to VHS. HDDVD lost to Bluray. CRT lost to LCD. Physx lost as well and now we see Gsync on the same ropes as the rest.

And to think after ALL of this people believe in RTX and DLSS. It will be unsupported or dropped in years to come.

As for dlss let's not forget that most of these games are made with consoles in mind first and foremost. Devs these days do the bare minimum for the pc version for the most part, they would much prefer it to be a hardware feature that the GPU vendor has control of. I think any features that require Devs to implement for a pc version are not going to have that much support. This might change if/when it's integrated on the console GPU though

Disappointed in RAD 7 7nm

No faster than my 1080ti :(

Shame

2080 is faster by a small margin than 1080ti and this is meant to be 2080 performance or slightly better. So will likely be faster and get a bump in the long run. Not ideal but that's generally how these cards play out.

Ouch, might ruffle a few feathers in here with that statement

I am aware that there does seem to be some that think having the fastest widget is worth anything over the widget below it in the stack, but this is really really dumb thinking.

If the new Titan was 50% faster than the 2080ti then yeah i could get behind it a bit more, but come on folks 2 and a half thousand (thats what it is isnt it???) for such a small increase over the already stupidly priced Ti is not clever and i dont care what anyone says. Being the best is not worth paying out stupid money for, unless that "best" really is a huge increase.

They need to re-test it again in a few months though, after Nvidia gimping for the 10 series kicks in and AMD updates their drivers a bit.

1 or 2% faster for £699

Hmmm

Crap card if you ask me released in FEB 2019

I agree on pricing, however I can’t call people idiots for spending their own money on what they want. People think I’m mad because I have watches which cost well above what an RTX Titan does.

You're all assuming DLSS doesn't take off. If DLSS comes out as planned, then this card is utterly pointless at this price, as the 2080 will be significantly better.
What happened to the "we want performance now now X months from now" that people tout when it comes to AMD cards? i find it Ironic and rather funny that people are now saying wait Xmonths/years for DLSS/RTX

So what, that wasn't the point being discussed.

There were an erroneous claim that AMD progressed performance per dollar. That is false. The fact that Nvidia may or may not have is pretty irrelevant

If its faster than my VEGA 64 then its progress no matter how you claim it to be.

Not when it hasn't progressed performance per dollar compare to a 2 year old 1080ti, no.matter what you claim it to be.

In absolute terms AMD has progressed performance against their own cards with an increase in cost. From a consumer perspective, AMD have done absolutely nothing to progress performance per dollar
