Hello,

I just recently bought myself a 7990 since I've always loved it and it's still up there with the best Graphic cards so for €300 it was a no brainer to me.

The card works more or less so far. There are a few things faulty.

Since my other monitor broke I am using a 1680*1080 Monitor at the Moment.

BF4 runs on Ultra what you could call smoothly. But I am only getting around 50-70 FPS which is a joke for this Card especially since I am not even playing on Full HD at the moment. I checked afterburner and my Second GPU isn't even bothering at all even though I have drops down to 40FPS so it would be required to take some of the load.

Also AMD Gaming Evolved tends to Run into an Error Whenever I have the Playback feature enabled. Gaming evolved will mostly just encounter an error soon after Starting the game and the playback feature is disabled.
If I start Gaming evolved during a Game and enable Playback the entire Game crashes.

My Setup:

4560k
MSI Z87M Gaming
16 GB HyperX Savage 1866Mhz
AMD Radeon HD 7990
Corsair CS550M PSU (This Part might be a Problem since the Card might require more than 550W altogether but could that be the cause ?!)

I have my OS and My game on two sepperate SSDs.

Some Input would be nice. I know I should be killing FPS with this Setup but it is average at best.

Could it be the PSU limiting my Graphics Card ?!

I'll attach pictures with System Info so you get better insight.

You just bought a 7990 for £300? That's a complete ripoff if you did, these cards are old and not worth anywhere near that price.

Enabled Crossfire inside the AMD drivers? make sure you running the latest Crimson driver 16.1

I have posted links to pictures of my Driver Settings. It's german but I guess it's self explanatory. I checked for the Crossfire Settings but here I encounter exactly nothing.

Should I really have to enable it when Crossfire is basically built in to the GC.

And for all the haters :P €300 for a Card that was bought a year ago and can still in theory kill a 390X or a GTX 980 is NOT much if you ask me.

Here is the link to the pic of the Crossfire settings:

It just basically says what crossfire is supposed to be but as you can see it shows nothing else.

If you'd check out the pictures in the original posting please the first one is a screenshot of Afterburner showing SOME but barely any GPU2 activity

Yeah you still need to enable it.. Head into display then top right fund additional settings ccc will open head to crossfire and make sure it's enabled.

If there is no crossfire option then try removing drivers completely using DDU and then try again. If still nothing then try the older Catalyst 15.11.1 beta.

There have been a few changes since Crimson (some options are still the same but look different in the new UI) but AMDMatt's Crossfire guide has a few useful pointers.

http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18544020

This is important as you have a 7990:

"The option to enable/disable crossfire is not present for 7990/295x2 users. Should these users wish to disable CrossFireX for a specific game you need to create a profile within 3d applications, select the game exe, add it, then disable CrossFireX and click apply."

Thank's. That's good to know. But since AMDMatt claims that this method is used to DISABLE Crossfire I can assume that Crossfire must be enabled in the first place.

I stand corrected I never knew this.

Okay. So The Driver is up and running and I did another Test in BF4.

On Ultra I now seem to have 75 FPS constantly with 60 bein a low point (so an improvement)
But the GPU2 still isn't touched really.
I have the possibility to really stress the GPU if I set the Resolutionscale to 200% but then I will have below 30 FPS and a still basically inactive GPU2.
Here is the picture of that:

I now have CrossfireX enabled in the CCC since the older version allows me to actually see my CF settings.

Actually. Command back. I just figured out that there is a way to check out if CF is active by having a symbol be displayed whenever a 3D application that uses CF starts but it wasn't displayed.

Also the option "disable CF" is greyed out so maybe it isn't enabled in the first place ?

My CF settings actually say "Enable CrossfireX" but "Enable CrossfireX for application without applicationprofile" instead of "Enable/Disable CrossfireX"
