RadeonPro CrossFire Settings :D

Oddly enough I googled that about 45 mins ago and got it running :p, total cpu usage seems to be around the 60% region in BF3, though im not sure if I should use that option or show all the threads individually.

Thats thread usage and total cpu use on stock crossfire.

Seem to be having issues applying it to afr mode, when I apply it and run the exe when I try and join a server battlelog opens a second window and the server never connects. That's launching it from radeonpro and the desktop.

Could you do me a favour :) Go onto Strike at karkand Conquest large empty server. And spawn in at G flag and head over to when you over looking the map towards the trains.

Could you take a screenshot there with GPU and CPU usage. Would also be great if you did preset Ultra, then High and then Low.

That would be great if you could and have time :D

Will do when I get back tonight, ended up forcing it through a profile in CCC and didn't see much difference really, highest it got to was about 80% on threads and maybe 70% total load, never really noticed much in the way of fps increase.

Ok thanks
Did you force Alternate Frame Rendering in CCC?? or do you mean you created a profile in RadeonPro.

Not sure what you ment on the last bit :)

For each setting I applied it, quit out then re-joined so they're applied properly, apparently some settings don't apply properly till the game restarts or a new map loads. Its weird comparing the settings, the only immediately obvious difference is the fps and that's about it, at least in screens. Ingame obviously its a bit sharper.

Thanks a lot well that confirms I need a i7 for crossfire.

I've been doing a lot of thinking over the past few weeks regarding an upgrade from my i7 920.

I've come to the conclusion it's not worth me spending ~£600 on a 4770K bundle or similar, simply because it's the Mesh setting that is killing my framerates, which I believe is CPU intensive.

I have now set it to low,all else is on ultra including motion blur/4XAA and it's as smooth as silk, I'm getting great frames no matter what map.

Sure I'm getting objects popping up as I walk forward but after a while you get used to it as you are concentrating on what's going on in the game. In no way does it affect the view distance of player and vehicles.

I've also downclocked my Windforce 7970s to 925/1375 as that ups the usage but still get the same framerates. I'm seeing 70-99% usage now, no matter what map.

Edit: the very same spot that gerard posted a screenshot of i'm getting 127 FPS with the mesh set to low all else on Ultra etc. as stated before.

The change from Ultra to High just seems completely off. I mean they isn't much change in frame rate and CPU increases. The big change is going to Low, Am i expecting to much from crossfire 7950? I was under the thought I would have 120fps Ultra or high settings?
Is this the reason most people with Crossfire play on Low?
One more thing to note this is the first time I have had the CPU on screen while game running and CPU didn't hit 100% for to long.

Ultra

High

Low

I can't see the screenshots mate.

Have you tried just setting the Mesh detail to low, all else on ultra? and run your 7950s at stock, to see what you get.

Maybe drop the shadow detail down to medium as well.

try now forgot to add them into image. See mesh means a big deal to me lol I would rather not play the game with it set to low.
Because Mesh is very CPU demanding this lends me to think i5 plus 2x 7950 isn't coping well.

I run both cards stock 800/1250 any high performance gets worst another thing leads to CPU bottleneck.

Just found out that having 90fov is a real FPS killer lol 90FOV plus Mesh seems to be the killer on performance.
Just dropped fov down to 65 and frame rate is staying around 100fps this with
ultra texture, High mesh, Medium for most other thing and add SMAA for the anti-aliasing.

Having 65fov though after playing so long with 90fov does look strange.

Thanks for this thread - I have three screens plus a 2500K and 7950 - was thinking of crossfire but finding it hard to see the colours in the screens above to see the impact ?

Also, I see you are/have been playing Arma3 (my other weapon of choice along with Battlefield) - I believe Crossfire does not work with that game yet as there is no profile, have you tried it ?
