Radiator Question?

Is that all you did, or did you also clean the radiator? It is unlikely (not impossible but unlikely) that moving the fans in that way would result in such a large difference. Cleaning the radiator would easily result in that much difference.

It could possibly be the clean up. It's definately at least 2 degrees to 3 degrees cooler now 4 might have been optimistic, but that could just be ambient temperatures, I haven't got a thermometer. Another point to note is there isn't a clear path for cool air through the case, being SFF the GFX cards block a good 2/3rds of the other side of the case, presumably heating it up in the process. I haven't checked idle temperatures, the machine is used for folding 18/7 so is never idle.

The jury is still out on it though, first glance better temperatures, the downside is the air coming out the other side of the case is very toasty so presumably not cooling the air cooled components as much?

Noctuas should arrive tomorrow, another great temperature checking moment.:)

Can I borrow this thread to ask a question.

If say, you had the rad in an open space, like out of the case just in the room. What would be the best way to put the fans then? Pushing air throu the rad, or pulling air from the rad?

Or wouldn't it make a difference?

In my experiance, pulling air through.
