Has anybody using this case had any trouble fitting 280mm Radiators in the front/bottom of the case?

I bought a 280mm radiator from overclockers a few days ago (This one) that arrived yesterday - and it doesn't seem to fit vertically or horizontally. its very slightly too tall/long (maybe by 3mm) to go either way round.

wondering if i should cut into the case to make it fit or just get a 240mm radiator instead...

280mms dont quite fit upright in the front. either exchange it or do what I did and slice the bottom of the drive cage off with a dremal

Yes the bottom area needs some modding before a 280 will fit in there - horisontally or vertically. There arte some excellent youtube vids showing what needs doing - I went for a 240 and placed it horisontally.

I think i'm going to try my hand at cutting into it, i can borrow a dremel from someone at work.

I'd like to put it upright - would mean cutting into the drive bay floor and into the floor... but i think i'll probably end up putting it horizontally as there would be less to cut.

shame really - i was under the impression that 140mm radiators would fit without any hassle! oh well. - got it in now, put it horizontally as it required much less work (got to invest in a dremel soon!)

That's why I bought a dremel, made it so much easier modifying the case

borrowed a dremel from a friend - going to order some new bits towards the end of the week - so will gut my PC before installing them and cut out the bits obstructing me from putting a radiator in the front of the case.

According to Tom Logan you can fit one in, but it'll be depending on how long your PSU is for a bottom mount. Could you not replace it with a 240 thick rad instead?

Its not the psu end thats the problem it its the other end where it conclicts with the bottom most fan mount at the front. I could replace it with a 240mm but i'd have to buy 4 new fans for it as well as the radiator, which will end up costing £100+

I saw the same video that Tom Logan made about the NZXT Switch 810 - it gave the impression that 140mm radiators would fit without any modding required... was half the reason why i bought the case!

You dont need to mod the floor look here

just slice the bottom of the drive cage off file down and fit

Not entirely sure what your showing me here - i can see they've managed to fit a 280mm rad up front but i dont see how? i cant see weather they've cut into the floor or into the 5.25" drive bays...

Into the 525 bay at the top thats mine and all i did was cut the bottom of the bay off so as to fit the top of the rad effectively in the bottom drive bay slot

Why go to all that bother when a 140mm radiator ends up having to need rubbish 140mm fans. Get a 120mm radiator and some decent fans and you'll be better off and wont have to cut up your case to boot.

since when are 140mm fans rubbish?!

Ah ok - that clears it up... hoping to get some new bits (pump/res/tubing/fittings) by the weekend, so will gut the case and figure out the best setup for the 280mm radiator.

Tom Logan talks up a good game from time to time, luckily I went down the 120mm fan route with thick rads so no case modding for me. Annoys me that thou from case manufacturers, they should quote what size rads the case is designed to fit rather than going out and having to butcher a case to get the hardware to fit!
