on the way home from work this morning my radio cut out then the lcd display in the centre console went blank.

now when i start the car it takes a couple of seconds for the display and the rev counter to kick in. radio still is still dead.

everything else is fine lights wipers etc.

any ideas.

i will check the fuses tommorow but sounds more than that to me.

cheers

EDIT: car is a 56 ford fiesta 1.4 tdci with aftermarket radio.

Who installed it? Is there a chance one of the wires has come loose; possibly shorting and causing everything else on that circuit to stop until it fixed its self?

I have similar but I think it's my battery dying, with a few things on lights/wipers/radio, the radio sometimes cuts out and so does the digital display on the dash and I get an esp/ABS warning.

Hy guys just a quick update before I let a garage have a Crack at it.

I have removed the radio completely and al that remains is the iso lead connected to the main radio loom. When I start the ignition it is a good 30 seconds before the rev counter and fuel gauge come to life.
