Radweld

Anybody had any experience with this?

The 206 (yes I still have it, gave it to Amanda), has decided to dump all its coolant.

I've checked all the hoses without removing them and it seems it's the radiator leaking although as to where its leaking I can't see yet.

Is it worth trying Radweld? I think on the inside of the radiator (engine side) there's a big enough indent that's leaking although the fluid is all over the bottom of the rad and doesn't appear to leak from a specific place.

I'll probably end up replacing the whole unit as it has a few marks on the back from when the HG was done, but the cars stuck up at Amandas parents and I just want to get it moving while I find a replacement rad, and running from my place of work, to pick up Amanda then run her to work is costing me a fortune in the Type-R.

Is there anything I should do to prep the car for Radweld and is there anything I should look out for after using it?

Also, the Peugeot only takes the water under pressure through the top of the res. How do I go about properly filling it? Full res, put cap on and run then repeat? Seems an ache of the nads if so! There doesn't seem to be any other way of filling the system.

radweld is decent enough for small leaks

if it's dumped its coolant, you're going to have to do it properly

Radweld will work (depending on the size of the hole - it's not a miracle cure), however it can cause problems with the rest of the coolant system, is it not simpler to go to a scrappy and pull a rad than mess about ?

Radweld is not great, i think the rule of thumb is only use it if you cant find the leak, if ytou think its the rad then change it, cant be that hard.

Yup my pop was piddling water out the front of the headgasket and a bottle of that gloop has sealed it up a treat. The only trouble is it wasn't a failed gasket that was the problem, the front studs had worked loose so now I can't crank them down. Because it's blowing a bit of combustion pressure by I'm having to change the headgasket at the weekend

Used it to fix a leak on a corroded and very very rare heater box, basically saved it when it would have been horrendously expensive to get another one and used it on the road on an ally rad where one of the solder joints had a developed a pinhole leak.

It didn't work. Ran it up to temp, put in the Rad Weld, left it running for 20 mins where it then seemed to stop... then it game peeing out much faster 2 mins later!

Well, at least now I know what I have planned for sat afternoon!

I used bars leaks in mine over 3 years ago, still well sealed.

Well, at least now I know what I have planned for sat afternoon!

Bummer. How big is the hole?
