I went into an old electronic shop and they had everything, I got talking to the guy and asked him where he got his stuff, he said RAF surplus auctions but I didn't ask him where they were! Anyone heard of anything like this or anywhere that I could find some info about them? I tried google but nuttin!

Well I'm not actually trying to find surplus stores sorry I'm trying to find the places where the stores get their stuff like auctions and things but can't seem to find anything.

Thanks

Years ago I got really interested in auctions, particularly police ones. Apparently you can get some really good electronic goods, though obviously without any warranty.

This wasn't on a trip to Lincoln by any chance was it?...

Yes it was!! Do you know it?

1 Hercules C130 to go please

It's for four of them!

How did you find out about these?

I know it well, or at least I used to 8-10 years ago when I was a spotty electronics geek... don't have any time for that hobby these days

I do like it in there! I want it! Do you know any other places like it?

Is it called Jonny Birketts? Not been there for donkeys myself. Thought it had finished years ago

Cue the thread titled "Lets all chip in and buy two OCUK Hercules!"

Did we ever buy that nuclear missile silo in the end?

Google for army surplus stores and you should find plenty.

I remember a few years back looking on them for some UHF antennas for the radios but couldn't get anything. Apparently some of the UHF beams they used were the best kit to try and get hold of.

I've got first dibs on flying one. I've done it in FS2004, but it's just not the same. :p

Iv never had flying lessons, although people say im a trustworthy kind of bloke, so I should be ok to fly a Herc :D, I also have an RC plane, so I know the concept of flying, im just more suited at flying from the ground, with a remote.

Got to love the listing though.

"Surplus UK MoD Hercules C130 CJ aircraft - Add to cart"

lol :)
