Two Tornado GR4s from 31 Sqn dropped into low level through out the 2nd June and most welcome they were! Sadly, whilst I had some amazing light in parts I didn't have it when the aircraft dropped by but still the pass with the wings back made up for it!

Nice Gord as always, was that at the mach loop?

Cant quite make out, but have you any pilots waving?

Thanks!

Yes, in the Mach Loop.

The pilot is having a good look and the WSO in the back is hanging on but no waves I captured from the Tornados.

Hercules crew did though (also, note the small compact camera :D)....

Great set,..... got to love the Gr4 when their fully swept.

He came back yesterday, and gave us 5 passes in perfect light(3 swept)

Very nice. I've got to get up there once I have some longer glass. I might just buy the 100-400 and be done with it!

Awesome photos mate! All your stuff is excellent!

Looking at getting more pics up on jetphots.net and airliners.net in the near future. Whats your setup for these pics and where were they taken? Welsh valleys?

**Just checked your site out for the list of equipment!

Thanks for looking and leaving a comment!

Good stuff! I wish I had caught them in sunlight but it wasn't to be.

100-400 is a good lens but AF is a touch slow and it needs good light to get the best from it. 300 f/4 is worth considering.

I really must start submitting to A.net again, just haven't had the time.

My website is due to be updated this weekend as my kit has changed. The above was shot with a 7D and 300 f/2.8 L IS.

Yes, shot in the Welsh valleys / LFA 7 / Mach Loop.

Excellents photos once again, Gord. :D Love the one of the Tornado with the swept back wings. Nice!

On a side note, saw my first Eurofighter yesterday when I was visiting my folks. They stay in the flight path for Edinburgh Airport so normally you can see them approaching although this thing looped down into the flight path from nowhere and into the flight path extremely close to the airport...was quite a surprise and never seen anyone pull a manoeuvre like that so close to the runway. Quite an impressive looking and sounding machine. Cannot wait to make my first trip to R.I.A.T. this year and get a better chance to see it.

Can see what you mean about the light but you've done an amazing job with what you had to work with I wouldn't have even noticed if you hadn't mentioned it. The framing and detail on the plane more than makes up for the dullness to the background.
