RAF Waddington Airshow

I used to love airshows but never seem to get around to going to any anymore :(

I wonder if they have made any progress on that plane we where talking about before (UK tactical bomber, looks like all one big triangle, iirc called vulcan or somthing like that).

Just seen on the local news that it is the last year that the show will be raising funds for the Vulcan to the sky project.

They intend it will be a flying display next year.

I'm not going (think my sister is going with friends though), I'll just laugh at you all stuck in your hot cars queueing past the end of my driveway :p

(maybe I should try and sell you ice lollys for rip off prices :p )

Oh, if you are coming from Sleaford way and turn onto the A607 just outside Lincoln and are heading southbound, passing through a village called Bracebridge Heath, and there is some guy wanting to pull out of his driveway... :) (though with a N reg punto with a a few dents... becomming slightly aggressive in trying to pull out normally persuades people to give you a little space :p )

Were thinking of going, as I live about 3 minutes from Waddington...should be good

Well you should get the noise part of your experience from your garden like me then :p

(another local person, maybe one day we'll actually have a Lincoln meet...)

(This is at least half a mile away from the air base, probably nearer a whole mile [especially when you consider the bits of road inside the base as well])

Love RIAT, also going this year. Gives you such a headache though. And the traffic is horrendus.

Big hint and tip - get there early. I went last year and on the Saturday left the hotel (5 miles away) at 7.15, parked up at 8.15. Sunday left at 7.00, parked up at 7.15 :D

Was there for 7.15 got a great spot on the flightline. Inlaws came in their motorhome so full facilities all day.

I was using my 35MM camera/lenses so pics will have to wait until next week.

Damn good airshow though.

Apart that is for the poor sod whose car caught fire just as we were leaving.

Whereabouts is that picture taken from...its looks like its just before you hit the main part of the village?? If so I know that bus stop far tooo well haha

And awww, the Grantham bus, how I miss thee lol

The end of my driveway :p :D

Its just towards the end of bracebridge heath, I'm not sure where BBH ends and waddington begins tbh, a few hundred yards south of where the shell filling station was before it was removed to make way for more houses
