Rafa signs new deal

Predictably the comedians are on form tonight. I'd have thought the Mancs may have been a little quieter after the hiding they took at the weekend :p

I'm glad.

Although the man has the ability to drive me nuts and baffles me with his decisions and illogical tactics at times, the fact is he's made Liverpool FC once again a world wide force that people talk about.

We are challenging for the league and each season we have made progress. Under him we've changed from being a UEFA cup, mid-table team, to being considered one of the favorites each year to win the champions league.

Just dont ask me my opinion when he starts playing the likes of Lucas ahead of other players. Or when he starts bringing off our big players half-way through a game we are losing.

Get rid of the yanks, bring in new investment and the future will be much more promising.

I agree, now we just need Wenger to sign a life long deal...:)

I'd had thought you would want the best manager in the league for yourselves or to go abroad?

we have made progress. .

I don't think you have. Sure a win over Manu is flattering but in reality it's the bad seasons of chelsea and arsenal that have helped you sit in 2nd. I dont think your any closer to the title than last year in reality.

Your still losing to the poor teams. Where Manu have known for years it's not about just getting up for the big games. Often they lose to a challenger but keep on mopping up wins against the likes of Hull.

Anyway I'm pleased Liverpool have kept Rafa. Very pleased.

In all fairness, our problem in recent seasons has been losing to the big four. Yes we were still not getting results against midtable teams but I think this year it is that area that has let us down the most, whereas in past seasons it was not beating the likes of Man U and chelsea......obviously things have changed a bit this season!!

It wasn't though, last year you finished a world away not because of the top clubs. You only lost Twice to Manu the rest of the top table clubs of last year, Chelsea, Arsenal, Everton, Villa the top 6 you only lost to Manu.

It's all the draws against Portsmouth and Birmingham etc that killed it last year. Nothing has changed this year.

Draws have been too costly again, this has happened in the past with Liverpool. I would risk losing a couple of games fighting to the death like Man UTD do, then go on a winning streak. Looking at Liverpool's draws they could have afford to lose a few f they had responded positively. Chelsea had quite a few last minute goals IIRC during their success.

Can't believe the UTD fans celebrating this contract. Rafa has take them to 2 ECL finals in such a short time, compared to UTD winning two European cups in my life time (same as Nottingham Forest), and I'm getting on a bit ;)
