Rag and bo gypos

I ******* hate ******.

This.

There is one near my area of bristol who persists on ruding around on a ****ing horse and cart which is about 4 planks nailed together on wheels.

We have single roads through my area, it's a ****ing nightmare. People daren't honk their horn though, as they'll most likely take your number plate and locate your car, assuming you're local.

Hate them.

Earlier this year the neighbours were having the patio door changed. The old one sat on the drive for a day and this ***** asked the owner (they were outside working on the house) if they could have the doors for the frames (they were aluminium). "Yeh no problem" he says, thinking they are doing him a favour getting rid of it for him. So next day they turn up in a too small van, try to get the doors in, fail so smash the glass in the road (no joke) bend the frame up and chuck it in the van then drive off.

beware ****** have no respect for anything.

Rag and bone men traditionally aren't (or weren't) ******. They used to take the horse and cart down the streets & people would give them their unwanted things. I doubt there are any left. Last time I saw one was ten or so years ago near Watford at my nans house.
These days they are literally just ****** who will take anything with or without your permission.

never come near my house...

ive got 2 washer drums , about 4 old bikes and some other crap in the garage they could take

Made sure the garage was shut and locked, got tools and tumble dryer in there, they spotted the lawnmower and asked, was going to take it dump so saved me a trip and fuel costs, council will take away 3 items for free, after that you have to pay. But are arsey, nothing can be wet and it has to be at the top of the drive on the day of pick up.

Every now and then a bloke comes round my way ringing a bell out of his transit.

He was a great help taking the 2 fridges and a freezer I had laying about, more than I can say for the local authority. Probably ended up fly tipped with all the copper removed mind.

one at selston been doing it all his life not a ***** and is well turned out

Fridges are tipped on there back in the back of the van & filled with odd small bits of metal until full then weighed in, Same with freezers it saves the small bits falling off back/sides of the wagon.
Also worth noting that quite a few kids were killed by suffocation when fridges & freezers were left laying about, Doesn't happen now as they are pinched quicker than the kids can kill themselves. :p

not anymore they wont atleast in newcastle
With effect from 1st April 2011 we will charge £15.00 for each bulky collection

used to be three free collections a year but for white goods you had to pay anyway

You cool with them taking it when you are not there? :)

I am - I've got rid of two washing machines, a dryer and and old TV that way. I just leave a big "please take me" note on them and leave them by the front gate.

Cheeky council wanted £10 per item to pick them up!

Rule of the story is, don't leave crap on your driveway :)

It was around my back :p You can't see it from the road, although there is evidence of building work and they probably saw the builders here last week.

In any case I've put a bike lock on em. Probably won't stop them but oh well.

We have some who come around here quite often, they play some sort of 'horn' that sounds like a retarded horse been manually strangled. Thieving sods nicked an old engine I was working on.
