rage against the x-factor - Outcome: RATM is the Christmas Number One!

By the way, anyone who says "number 2 would be ok" will make me RAAAAAAAGE.

NO RETREAT. NO SURRENDER!!!!1111

We will not settle for anything less than #1. If you think we may lose - BUY MOAR COPIES :p:p:D

"RATM buyers are sheep lol" is getting really old, all people want is for anything else other than X-Factor to be #1, and the only way for that to happen is for everyone to buy the same thing, it doesn't matter wtf the song is or even if they like it.

the only way for that to happen is for everyone to buy the same thing

see this is the main bit i disagree with and is proof of how stupid the whole thing is.

you dont need to buy another record to let the music industry know that you dont like x factor. you already do that every year when your not buying the x factor records...

they know not everyone likes x factor. they dont care and they still wont care when/if RATM gets to no1

And quite a few are going to have to come up with a new excuse why they don't buy now they have found that lots of music tracks these days are DRM free. :)

Nah, they've already the next excuse, which is that 320kbps is too low a bitrate for their Daredevil grade ears.

It does depress me though the somewhat elitist attitude some of the RATM supporters are showing, calling X-factor fans sheep etc when they are only buying the single because they have been told to. :)

Stopped and considered what it is to buy the Xfactor single?
A cover of a Miley Ray Cyrus song, done by a Kareoke winner, written by a team of song writers.

Considered what it is to buy the RATM song?
It was written in protest to the ills of American sociaty, in articular the KKK.
The proceeds of this campaign, will be donated to 2 charities. Shelter - a homless charity, and a charity supporting young musicians breaking it into the scene. When I say young musicians... I'm not referring to those Captain planet lookalikes you see crying on TV about their middle class struggle and crying over their hopes and dreams.

Then change the station/the record/the DJ/the tape

You don't HAVE to listen to Radio 1

Funily enough.. I never liked Zane Lowe up till now :)

Louis walsh says

Fellow X Factor judge Louis Walsh said: 'This is taking the fun out of the race for Christmas number one.'

Sorry louis but without this "campaign" there would be no race...

Took all these posts for somebody to talk sense.

For me, it's not about saying it's a bad song, it's about showing people that the charts should be about the best song, and not just about the song that is given the most publicity.

If Jo McGaylord (or whatever we are calling him now), just brought out this track off his own back, a cover of a Hannah Montanna the movie soundtrack song, probably only 6 months after the original was released and had no press coverage, where would it get to in the charts?
