Wouldn't make sense for rage to have bad textures since one of the strengths of the engine is the fact that it can use literally tens of gigs of textures in any given scene with the "virtual texture" tech it has. One of the scenes they showed off from what i can remember had over a hundred gigs of textures in a scene.
That being said its id software, theyve not produced anything outstanding in a decade now.
Looking at the game it really looks like a typical id game, depressing colour scheme, human characters that look a bit "off" with a weird sheen to their skin. Im sure the multiplayer will be the same tired crap theyve been hawking since the mid 90's.
Just seems they could do so much more but they seem to always fall back on certain elements that make ther games have a "samey" look and feel to them.
The enemy tossing fireballs at the start of this might as well be the imp from doom 3, even throws them right handed..
Lol "ID Software presents A New Vision".
So if you take Borderlands and Fallout and make it an FPS, thats a new idea, yes?
That is exactly what I thought! Seems very much like Borderlands, and the A in RAGE looks like a similar design to the Borderlands symbol too! Add the 'fallout' background to it and you have this!![]()

The release date is September this year.
Shame the mutants disappear. I prefer it when enemies remain after being killed.
You sure? Im watching some vids and the enemies seem to stay there.
Just after your in game character talks to (is it 'Crazy Joe') you fight a few mutants just next to where your buggy is. I saw at least one of them there dissolve. I'm not sure about all the others in the videos though.![]()
