RAGE problem!

So my OH brought me the retail version of Rage for Christmas so me been like a kid couldn't wait to get it going so today I decided to install it, all went good till I had to input the product key. I must have spent 2 hours trying to input the key with no avail even tried different variations of the key still it said invalid.

So im stuck with a game I cant install and I cant bring back as the place it was brought from don't take back PC games.

All help much considered

Ive got the retail Anarchy edition, I got the game at release.
Ive got the serial key on a sticker inside the case under the disks.
On the label is says - STI - RAGE - UK and the key underneath like this -
AB1C2-3D4EF-G56HI

With the manual Ive got a separate insert with keys on boths side for the extra items and the wasteland sewer missions.

Im guessing you have tried '0' (zeros) as 'O' (letter O) and vice versa?

I bought the retail Anarchy edition a few days ago and the main game serial was on a small sticker on the front of the manual.
The two other serials with extra items and the Wasteland missions were like Neoglow's and on a seperate insert.
 
If it says the key is wrong contact publisher as above it it says it is already in use contact steam (what i did when my dad's key had already been used).
 
Interestingly, that link above to the steam support site shows Just Cause 2 as having a different way to input the key, I wonder if RAGE is similar, doubtful but worth a try!?

Doesn't the returns policy only apply to unwanted items? Regardless of who's fault it is, you've been sold an item that does not work, it's the shops responsibility to cover this is it not.

I'd be going straight back anyway, the licence is what they have effectively sold you and it does not work.
 
chances are you're just reading it wrong.

I've spent hours reading the same key over and over again, its only when i've asked others that they have seen a completely different letter / number which has then worked.
 
Yeah Batman Arkahm City had rubbish txt for cdkeys. 6 and G looks the same, I had one and some others on Arkham City forums had this, once we changed the G to a 6 or vice versa it worked :) So I guess it is the same here as well. I have not known cdkeys to be wrong from retail? Maybe it is more common then I think.
