As far as I can tell from the photos it uses a standard X19xx series cooler mounting hole arrangement.

I really hope so. Means I can just transfer my waterblocks off my X1900's onto these.

Yay.

I hope my Maze 5 will work on it as well.. will really be a selling point for me! Won't have to empy my loop or anything! :D

It would make sense if you could use the same water block

I was tempted to upgrade to an 8800GTS a while back, but because my Maze 5 alledgedly wouldn't work on a GTS I held back from ordering...

Why does it need 2x PCI-E power connectors when 8800GTS only needs 1?, sounds like it wastes a lot of power?.

*glances down at sig "8800GTS 320Mb" hmm*

The only real people I ever see slagging off the R600's are 8800 owners, it's like you get some free smug with the card when you buy it.

I thought the reason it used 1x6 and 1x8 pin was because it was PCI-E 2 or something.

Well here's my comparison of Doom3 to that fella's.

Drivers - 158.22

16xQ AA // 16x AF // Supersampling // H.Quality

In-Game Settings

Now he gets 85.0 FPS in comparison to my 54.4 FPS. Making the card rougly 64% faster. I think that's correct.

Anyway, some questions. How come both of his results are bang on round figures? i.e. I have ran it and I get .2 or .4 at the end? Just nit-picking.

I also wonder how much the C2D CPU made a difference to the results?

But looks good so far.

Very impressive Vista 3DM06 score - better than my 8800GTX in Vista 64 AND XP (XP I get ~10350), although I don't know the rest of his spec..

You cant compare that mate. He has Core 2 Duo and you only have a 3800 x2.

Edit : My bad somebody already told ya. ;)

Looks like some decent Vista numbers in the benchmarks....

Am pondering if ATI done some excellent Vista drivers cos we have only really been using Nvidia 8 series as a XP vs Vista in gaming benchmarks....

That may have a larger impact and yet be another major + going for ATI ;)

Aye, tbh I wouldn't of thought there'd be that much of a difference.... lol how wrong was I. :D :p

I know hes running on vista... but I can get those scores (and better) on my 7950GX2 w/ E6600 @ 3gig and this is old tech now...
