raghhhh cant decide what to do

What's your budget? A Multistrada might fit the bill?

Triumph Sprint is another dull bike to be honest. Essentially you're after the holy grail - an exciting bike that is still practical and comfortable! Personally, if you want an IL4 engine I'd go for the Kawasaki Z1000SX

Whats the range like on an SV1000? You can get side boxes and a top box for them, change the bars and screen and could good?

What about a Triumph Tiger 1050? Lovely, lovely engine, can take panniers and top box, handles very well with it's proper road tyres, commanding riding position, comfortable.

I had the SV1000S, it was fun to ride, good engine, nice looking as well. But the build quality wasn't that great and the fairing was rubbish for wet weather protection.

Aprilia Futura? Another litre V-twin worth a look.

I looked that that lovely looking bike but seems a bit too motorway focused where say an fjr1300 would be better and cheaper.

and now I contradict myself by asking how's the tiger on long motorway trips lol?

Budget can be around 10k for the bike alone. What's the multi strata like for long journeys?

Tiger, sprint, strada all added to the test ride list.

What's ducati like for getting test rides?

I had a 2009 Tiger 1050 for a while and did about 10k miles on it, a lot of it motorway.
It was a joy to ride to be honest. Smooth, fast, and comfortable.

The only issue I had with it was the headlamps which were bloody awful. They have been fixed on the current version where they junked the projector lamps for some decent reflectors. They re-named the bike the Tiger Sport when the big 1200 Explorer was released. They are £9k OTR with £750 of accessories thrown in. This means you can kit it out with panniers and topbox for that price.

I've only ridden one on a short test ride, but they are a comfy adventure (styled) bike, so should be all day comfy. I considered buying one, but the GS is a better all round bike in my opinion, especially for 2up touring fully loaded with tents etc, but the Ducati is definitely the sportier, more engaging ride.

I agree with Sagalout. Having had both the multi and a GS, the GS is the best all rounder, and the multi is a sports bike that you can tour on. My GS was the last of the air cooled models. A friend of mine has the water cooled version and says it's much better. I haven't ridden the new one but I don't doubt him. They can probably be had for 10k now.

10k is a lot for a second hand bike.

I'm just not sure the GS's are worth the premium over the other brands equivalent.

i dont think the gs is really for mew i do quite like the sports side of sports tourers. rather than the adventure stsyling side.

if you have a 10k budget then the simplest option would be to fix up your current machine

it wont cost much, unless you really fancy another machine

cheap used zx12r is decent choice aswell, big mile muncher

the blackbird didn't impress me tbh looks wise,it looked a little dated to me and the swingarm looked old fashioned compared to my zx10
