Since my ram is on offer now, contemplating upgrading my PC, another 2gb ram, and umming over Vista 64 Ultimate.

I bought a complete system from OC just over a year ago, its setup as Raid 0 already, my question is do I need to setup the array again or is it already configured and I just need to reformat and install?

Part 2 is, if I install vista, and further down the line upgrade the CPU, is it considered a new pc, therefore need to buy a new license of Vista?

Thanks

Since it is already set up as Raid0 (i.e. the Raid array is currently built) then you can reformat and install as you choose.

Not too sure on the second question but you could change the CPU without triggering a reactivation under XP so I'd imagine the same to be true for Vista.

Right,

Got my ram got Vista.

Seems it doesnt see my raid setup, when I use the floppies it doesnt show drivers unless I tick the 'hide blah blah blah not compatible with hardware'

Even after trying to each one of the drivers it only sees my 2nd hd...

Any advice please?

Also make sure that they're the 64bit versions if you've gone with Vista64.

Are you using the Intel or Marvell ports on the board?

Thanks for the advice guys, but its sorted now, it was a bit of a mere though.

Took me a while of scouring the net.

Dodgy DVD drive, so needed to use a USB external. So boot order was the first problem.

Needed newest raid driver too.

About 6-10 reboots.

Sorted boot order.
Found Driver
Unplugged my 2nd non raid HDD to be safe also..Read someone had problems if it was still plugged into this MOBO..
Only then was the raid visible..

Nice day of it though, good old drive down to OC and back, hour each way, then prolly from about 6-midnight messing about with it..Stopped to have a kebab though mid thru..Oh well, lesson learned :D
