I have 4 WD 250gb HD's in Raid 0 in my intel onboard raid - DFI X48 LT T2R. I booted up yesterday and instead of displaying 'Member Drive' next to one of the 250gb, it displayed 'Error Occurred'.

So I downloaded WD Lifeguard Data test to check the HD, changed the bios to IDE instead of Raid so the software could see the HD and did a full extended test, which it passed with no errors!

So is the HD fine and the raid just failed? What could have coursed this? Will I lose the data of the Raid 0 (I have back up lucky).

It could be that there is a problem with the RAID drivers or RAID controller. You will have to rebuild the array as their is no parity or mirror. Unfortunately, you will loose your data. Makew sure you build using the latest drivers and check the motherboards website for BIOS updates etc..

The problem is here is that you could run into the same problems again if it is a failed controller.

wat annoys me is i was going to replace these drives wen i got win 7 nexr month. vista is on my raptors but i think that some boot files got written to this raid wen i installed so it looks like a reinstall of vista for a few weeks.

This happend to me twice ....download the intel matrix storage program and install (if u can get into windows) and right click on the drive showing error has occured and set to mark as normal (this should fix it,,,and get rid of the error in the raid bios)...or if u built the array again ...u may find this happens again ...try the above!:o
