I already own a Corsair Force 3 120GB SSD, I am looking to expand the size of my SSD drive. I know the Intel/Samsung drives are the best rated but considering I already own the force 3, would adding another as a raid 0 setup be a good idea? I've not had any problems with the drive for the 12 months I've owned it.

Or would I be better to buy two 840 drives and sell the Force 3? Would I see much benefit from this?

:)

you could add in another corsair seeing as they are cheapish, idk if youd see any benefit from raid though

RAID0 increases access times and one of the big advantages of having an SSD is the very low access times/non-existant seek times. In many cases the sustained throughput from one SSD is already far beyond what most people will get any benefit from so personally I don't see any point to putting them in RAID0 unless your doing something that very specifically needs stupidly high transfer rates and you have the hardware and knowledge to back that up.

Well it would double your chance of failure (and one failure would obviously take out the stripe) not really, especially because as said above SSD's and RAID are pretty pointless. RAID is great for boosting the IOPS for mechanical HDD's and raising the transfer speeds, but with SSD's transfer speeds already beyond what most people would possibly need and motherboard RAID won't really help with the IOPS much.

Better to go for 1x240/256 than 2x120 IMO.

Ok cool, thanks for the information guys. I knew Raid 0 is the riskiest of the lot, but the access times never occurred to me.
