Hello all,

I have 2 x v/raptors 150gb in raid 0 configuration on stripe setting but when I go into my computer it shows the drives together but with a maximum size of nearly 300gb. I thought It would only report 150gb as the drives are striped together. Is this correct? Also in device manager my 1tb western digital caviar shows up with its correct name but my raid array comes up as Nvidia stripe is this also correct or do I need to change some settings somewhere?

Cheers

RAID 0 = data striping (data written to each disk alternately; capacity is the sum of both)

RAID 1 = data mirroring (data written to both disks near-simultaneously; capacity is that of the smaller of the disks/partitions in the array)

DM will report the array name according to the controller rather than the physical drives, so nothing to worry about.

RAID 0 combines the 2 hard drives as one, RAID 1 will use the second disc as redundancy, so if you loose one disc you can rebuild the array with minimum of fuss.

RAID 0, If you loose a disc you will need to re-install.
