Hey All,
I have 2 x Kingston SSDNow 40 GB running on Raid0 at 80GB as OS with Win 7 64bit...
Recently I updated my bios to F10 (Gigabyte EX58 UD5) and I reinstalled my windows with all my apps and programs and then made an image with Acronis 2010 then I used HDDERASE 3.3 to clean wipe both ssd drives and then re created my Raid0 and restored the image (with the OS and apps) with Acronis. I did this as the Raid0 does not support trimming and when imaging the OS on to the Raid 0 Configuration apparantly it writes to 1 block as apposed to scattering it all over the place ...
However my 1 problem is I have noticed that my Raid0 is often breaking on cold boots and I am having to re recover my os and apps with Acronis 2010. This is sooooo annoying.
When installing windows originally before the imaging with Acronis I am doing this whilst my bios in overclocked settings could this be the reason? Shall I re install with stock bios settings or doesn't this really matter?
Also I have been thinking of just selling these 2 x Kingston SSD 40GB each as they are still Brand new and maybe I should get intel's latest x-25 G2 drive which does already support trimming and run it non raid?
Please can I have some advise and support on this or if there is a way to prevent the Raid0 from breaking on cold boots?
Thanks all
