ok quick few questions, with all my parts arriving tommoz , im going to do a raid 0 for some nice speed, now the questions:

1 : if i partition the drives will it make them perform worse? e.g slower speeds etc 2 x 250gb drives in raid 0, so thats 500, and i wanna do a 200 / 300 split

2: which is the best ports to use on the evga 680i

1. Partitioning will not affect the underlying speed of the array although copying from one partition to the other will be slow in the same way as it is on a single disk because the heads have to move repeatedly from the source location to the target

2. All the ports are connected to the NForce controller so there's no difference between them.

With only 2 partitions, and being that size...I would think there would be really no performance loss.

I would use the first 2 ports, ie. SATA 1 & SATA 2. :)
