Hi all
I've recently purchased a Gigabyte P35 DS3R and was thinking about setting up a raid 0 with 2 x 500gb hard drives.
However, as you can see, 2x 500gb drives would not only be holding the operating system and the games installed and therefore I would not want to lose the raid array (due to one dead hard disk or something similar) and lose eveything that I had on both!
When I was looking at the setup screen of the raid controller I saw that you can setup the size in gb of the raid .. does this mean that if I were to set it up at , for example, 100gb, it would take 50gb from each disk and leave the rest as normal storage (ie if I were to take a single hdd from the raid and plug it elsewhere I'd be able to read the remaining 420gb just fine) ? Thanks!
