as my old a7n8x board abd chip popped i have 2 300 gig raid drives in config 0 i think well they read as one drive if i put these onto a more modern board will they work or will i have to find some sort of software to backup to another hard drive

I have heard of some people successfully moving a RAID0 array from one board to another but these have always been between boards with virtually identical RAID controllers. I have also heard stories of people not being able to move arrays between identical boards so it's by no means guaranteed to work.

To be safe I'd back everything up to another disk or DVD and then recreate the array on the new machine.

As you will move to a new board there is a very big chance that the chipset is different and with that the chance of success is minimal.

But try it anyway.

You can't backup either if you can't find a mobo that recognises them :(
