Hi guys recently got 2 X Samsung F2 1TB drives
I was thinking of putting them into a RAID0 setup

If each drive is 5400 RPM will the drives when in RAID 0 perform at 10800 RPM?

I dont believe the speed of the drives increases, that's not possible. It's just that you'll read from both at the same time, hence the data rate increase.

so does that mean the data transfer will double up?

With ALL things being ideal you can usually with 2 (two) identical HDDs in RAID0 get almost twice the data transfer rate of that of a single HDD...having a read Here should help.

Would you mind losing the 2tb of data ?

well I backed up most of the important stuff

well here goes I had to change my BIOS from IDE to SATA
then I got to set up the two X 1TB as a RAID 0 in the intel matrix page

BUT then I couldn't boot into windows because the mode was in SATA
is there a way around this without installing the OS again?
