Raid 0 very poor performance.

Hi mate,

Im using the 2 seperate Sata ports that are on their own as described to by the manual to use for Raid,Before i raided 2x seagate barracudas in them ports and it was fine but the SSDs perform like crap on it. :/

If you want decent performance then you'll need to use the Intel SATA ports, the Gigabyte ones that you're using are very poor in comparison.

Problem is you'll need to break and recreate the array on the new ports so a reinstall is also required.

The Intel SATA ports on the OP's motherboard do not support RAID.

Nevermind guys,Cant be bothered messing around with it,i dont think il be getting decent speeds with my on board raid so i just decided to use 1 ssd for windows and 1 ssd for my games,60GB is plenty for the two main games i play/

You would be hard pushed to notice any real world performance diference between a single SSD (in AHCI mode) and a 2 RAID0 SSD setup running on the Intel ICH10(R) controller
