I am planning on erasing and running my two 500GB western digital drives in RAID 0 but I need to ask you guys a quick question. I have noticed that I will need to change my OnChip SATA Type to RAID and am just wondering if I will be able to run the two WDs in RAID but also have an extra 500GB seagate drive used on its own (as a backup for the RAID). Also, if this is possible, would I need to disconnect it while I set up the raid?

Thanks.

It's perfectly possible to run two drives in RAID0 with another alongside as a standalone drive - I'm doing exactly that right now. You could disconnect the Seagate while you set up the array, that way you'll be sure that the array is on the drives you want, but it's by no means necessary.
