Hi ive got a msi P67A-GD65 motherboard and a 120gb vertex 3 hard drive. The problem is with the amount of quality games released and the sale's on steam i've ran out of space fast. So i'm looking to put another vertex 3 120gb into my rig. Has anyone done this and have you had any problems.

Thx tet

I have Raid 0 crucial M4 64GB and I've had no problems but I do not write a lot of data to them, they don't support trim and I really don't want to have to reinstall because one of them fails.

I would advise against it if I'm honest though especially if you aren't good at managing data.

You would be better off just getting a second drive and installing games on it. If one fails you lose both and that means re-installing 240gb not 120.

why do you need to raid ssds? windows wont boot any faster, remember that the drives only hold 128gbs, you cant trim the drives in raid 0 so they wont last as long. they are already impossibility fast. games will only load so fast and i doubt you will notice in a raid setup.

get a WD 2gb caviar black or something simular and raid that, put your games on them

£111 for 500gb :(. mother nature truly is a *****.

Trim will be supported in RAID 0 on Intel chips in the near future. I have my Agility 3's in RAID0, the difference is noticeable but not really worth it. Unfortunately it's too much hassle for me to split them now!

As suggested, you're probably better off RAID'ing two HDDs for games; I have about 500GB of stuff from Steam so it's not really viable to have it on SSDs for me - if I'm playing a game through I tend to junction it to a folder on the SSD and copy it across for the duration. Doing this all the time will probably kill the SSDs though...
