RAID 1 Q

I've just put a Gigabyte P35-DS4 in my machine.

I also bought a second 250GB drive the same as my last one. Is it possible to RAID 1 them without rebuilding my machine?

Put new hard drive in case.
Plug in.
Set up RAID.
Install windows.

Wont need to rebuild anything? or did you mean installing software?

No, I was hoping to mirror it without rebuilding Windows.

I would have done but my mobo died Friday and I'm looking for a job at the mo so I needed to get it up and running asap so I managed to swap the mobo's out and just replace the drivers.

There is a way to do this. Google it around and u should be able to find it. Basically, preload the drivers in Windows first, then swap you HD BIOS settings to RAID afterwards. It *should* work, but no guarantees etc.

*Should* work... but you can never be sure with cheap consumer chipsets. Definitely backup and be prepared to wait a while for the RAID to build.

Was too cawardly and had a couple of driver issues so I backed up and rebuild. Many thanks to all for replys though.
