Raid 1 question

I have just put 2 x 3TB hard drives in a hard drive enclosure and connected it to my laptop via USB, I have set it to raid 1 on the actual enclosure but notice it only showing one drive in widows, is this normal?

I would have thought so, if you had set it to raid 0 you would be seeing 1x6 TB and in raid 1 your seeing 1x3 TB and the enclosure is handling the raid stripping work so windows will only see the array amount ...3TB

Yes. RAID1 is one or more volumes mirrored on two physical disks. Data is written by both disks identically at the same time
