I have been running my setup for the last 3 months with little or no problems. I even had 3-4 weeks uptime at one point.
My setup is as follows:
Intel i5-750
MSI P55-GD80 (BIOS v1.4)
Corsair Dominator DDR3 1600MHz 4GB CL8Kit w/2x 2GB XMS3 modules, CL8-8-8-24, 1.65V
nVidia GTX280
Corsair HX850w
Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit
My OS is running on a WD VelociRaptor 150GB. Last week I installed 2x2TB Samsung hard drives and set them up in RAID 1 to be used for storage. This didn't go smoothly as I had to do a registry hack because when I initially installed windows I didnt turn on RAID in the bios. Anyway the hack seemed to work fine and I got the RAID setup. Then my PC just started hanging after anywhere from 30 mins -3 hours use. I would usually have to hard reset it and then its okay for another little while. I re-installed my OS yesterday thinking messing around with the registry may be causing this. At first it seemed to be okay but after another couple of hours it hung again.
I have tested all my hard drives using manufacturers tools. Reset the BIOS to optimized defaults(I had been slightly overclocking). There is nothing in the event viewer to indicate what the problem might be. This is so frustrating after spending quite a bit of money on the hard drives. At this stage I'm just considering giving up the RAID idea. Maybe just run the hard drives in a normal setup and schedule a script to copy all modified files from one hard drive to other during the night???
