Raid 1 vs Raid 5

I've recently set up a 5x 3TB RAIDZ2 array, I'd recommend that over RAID5 after reading about all the URE problems.

The WD greens can have the spin down/eco mode changed in firmware with wdidle3.exe Mine have served in my Nas as linux software mdadm raid 5 for years without issue...

Thanks, I decided to slowly buy the Red's and decided to ask Santa for some 2tb ones

Nice tip for the greens having the ability to remove spin downs.

Gladly prices don't differ much at the moment in drives
