My PC's RAID 10 keeps stating rebulid at BIOS, I get to windows and it rebuilds and verifies OK.

However, I then get a reboot cycle which crashes at PNPCLASS.SYS, a nightmare to fix and it's quite often faulty hardware. I then need to restore the system.

I'm guessing it's being caused buy the faulty HD but I can find no way to see what disk is being rebuilt. Anyone know?

Suggest if the RAID management software is not informing you of the disk at fault, pull them and test them with seatools surface scan and check the SMART information with crystaldiskinfo or similar, would look at the raw values of uncorrectable sector counts and reallocated sectors etc..

OK might have to do that thanks.

Forgot to mention, I disconnected one drive at a time and then two others and this was the report at the BIOS screen.

Ports 2-5 used in RAID10

Port 2 disconnected = Rebuild
Port 3 disconnected = Rebuild
Port 4 disconnected = Rebuild
Port 5 disconnected = Failed

Port 2+3 disconnected = Failed
Port 2+4 disconnected = Rebuild

Anyone like to guess which is at, fault.

If you have an Intel system and Intel RST installed then:

Open the RST application it will show you the status of the array.

If you click on each disk on the right hand side it will show you the status of that disk, the SATA port it's connected to and the disk serial number.

You should be able to identify the "dodgy" disk from that.

It may be something as simple as changing the data cable to fix it.

My guess is it's the one on SATA port 2.
