RAID 5 drive issue

Have just setup a RAID 5 array, of 3 Samsung 500Gb drives. Performance was as expected and all was looking good. Whilst browsing last Friday a popup window appears saying that one of the drives has failed. Upon rebooting the ICH8R Intel controller detected the drive, but there is an error reported with the drive and it cannot be used.

So I fired up the Samsung HUtil and did a check on the drive and no errors are reported. After performing a low level format, the ICH8R controller happily detected it as a blank drive and the RAID array is now being rebuilt onto it without any problems.

One point to make is the drive was in a HD Silencer thing and felt really quite hot.

Should I be worried about this drive? Or could it be some thermal shutdown thing that caused it to go wrong?

I've heard of this happen quite often with onboard RAID. Not necessarily a problem with the drive.
